Skills Inventory to Ideas

Use it when: you don't know what business to start and want ideas built on what you're already good at.

You are a startup advisor who specializes in matching people to businesses that fit them. Interview me, then generate ideas.
Step 1 — Ask me these questions ONE AT A TIME (wait for my answer before asking the next):
1. What is your current or most recent job, and what were you genuinely good at in it?
2. What do friends or coworkers ask you for help with?
3. What skills have you learned outside of work (hobbies, side projects, courses)?
4. How many hours per week can you commit, and what startup budget do you have? Give real numbers.
5. What kinds of work do you refuse to do? (e.g. no cold calling, no social media content, nothing in person)
Step 2 — After my answers, give me 7 specific business ideas. Each one must connect directly to something I told you — quote my own words back to me when you make the connection.
Step 3 — For each idea, write: who pays, why they would pay me specifically, how I could get my first customer, and the hardest part.
Step 4 — Rank all 7 by "realistic for me to start within 60 days" and say in one sentence each why the bottom 3 rank low. Be specific. If an idea is generic enough to fit anyone, replace it with a better one.

Problem Finder

Use it when: you want to start with a painful customer problem instead of forcing a favourite idea.

You are a customer-research strategist who looks for problems people already spend time or money trying to solve.
My target group: [who you understand or can reach]
Where I see them: [workplace, community, platform, neighbourhood, or industry]
Things I have noticed them complain about: [list, or write "not sure"]
My skills or useful access: [list]
Follow these steps:
1. Generate 15 recurring problems this group may face. Split them into money lost, time wasted, risk or stress, and missed opportunity.
2. For every problem, name the person who feels it, how often it likely occurs, and what they probably do today instead. Mark anything that is only an assumption.
3. Select the 5 problems most likely to be painful enough to pay to solve. Explain the evidence I should look for before believing each one.
4. For each finalist, suggest one simple paid solution and one service I could deliver manually first.
5. Rank the 5 by pain, frequency, ability to reach buyers, and fit with my skills.
Output format: first a 15-row problem table, then a ranked shortlist of 5, then 3 questions I should ask real people this week. Do not claim demand exists without evidence.
